Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your oven clean
How long does an oven clean take?
Cleaning time depends on the type, size and condition of your appliance. A single oven will usually take around 45–60 minutes, while double ovens and range cookers may take longer. If you’re having additional appliances cleaned, such as a hob or extractor, extra time may be required.
We never rush a job — the aim is to leave your appliance thoroughly cleaned and looking its best.

Will you protect the area around my oven?

Yes. We take great care of your home. Before cleaning begins, we protect the surrounding work area and flooring where necessary to help keep your kitchen clean and tidy throughout the service.

 DO you use harsh chemicals?
Â
We use professional oven-cleaning products chosen to provide excellent results. We don’t describe our service as completely chemical-free, but we aim to use products responsibly and minimise unnecessary environmental impact

Do you use a steam cleaner?

No. We use professional oven-cleaning products, specialist equipment and proven cleaning methods rather than relying on steam cleaning.

How do you professionally clean an oven?

Removable parts such as racks and trays are taken out and cleaned separately, including using our professional heated dip-tank system where appropriate.
The oven interior is then carefully cleaned by hand to remove baked-on grease, carbon and food residue. Once everything is clean, the removable parts are refitted and the appliance is left clean, tidy and ready to use.

How soon can I use my oven after it has been cleaned?

In most cases, your oven can be used straight away once the cleaning has been completed and the appliance has been reassembled.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. Joe’s Oven Cleaning is fully insured with public liability insurance, giving you additional peace of mind while I’m working in your home.

Can a dirty oven be dangerous?

A dirty oven isn’t automatically dangerous, but a heavy build-up of grease, burnt food and residue can cause unpleasant smells and smoke and may increase the risk of problems during cooking.

What is your environmental approach?

Where possible, we choose professional cleaning products and methods that provide excellent results while minimising unnecessary environmental impact. We aim to use products responsibly and only where required.
